Bida Poly suspends lecturer over rape of student
A lecturer in the Department of Public Administration of the Federal Polytechnic, Bida, has been suspended for allegedly raping an ND 1 student of the department.
A source said the victim was still receiving treatment in the polytechnic’s medical center while the culprit was in police custody.
The Public Relations Officer of the Polytechnic, Alhaji Hussaini Enagi said the lecturer, a senior staff, had been suspended and placed on half salary pending the outcome of the investigation by the disciplinary committee.When contacted, the Public Relation Officer of the Niger State Police Command, ASP Bala Elkana confirmed the arrest of the accused lecturer and said investigation was on.
